"Christmas is Coming"
As we head into the busy period for the shows, we can only hope that in this time of doom and gloom on the financial front that people will have their spirits lifted with the thoughts of Christmas and come to the shows to find something different to buy for their loved ones. Optimism is the key word I think as we start the pre Christmas shows. We have a few Garden Centres before we visit the Grassington Dickensian Shows in December. We will be at Bents Garden Centre on the 10th, 11th and 12th October and the following week at the Reebok Stadium on the 19th October. Check out the links for more information. We have a few new products for the pre Christmas shows (pictured are a pair of earrings made from Dichroic glass beads and Swarovski crystal beads).

* Sunshine and Sales *
Last weekend we attended the Cumbria Steam Gathering at Flookburgh and had a great weekend both with the weather and sales. Our Dichroic Glass Cuff bracelets seemed to be a big hit with the customers as we sold out on the first day.
This weekend we are at Woodvale Rally (a show we have not attended for a number of years). Today (Saturday) has been pretty good. The weather yet again has been sunshine all day and the forecast for tomorrow is good so hopefully we will have another good day tomorrow. I think Summer is here at last!
Our next outing after this weekend will be back up to Cumbria to the Rheged Discovery Centre at Penrith on 16th and 17th August for a Craft and Gift fair. Hopefully the Summer weather will hold out until then.

Summer Shows!!!! and New Products
After a successful show at Bents Garden Centre last weekend, this weekend we will be travelling to Stapeley Water Gardens on Saturday and Sunday 12th/13th July. The British Summer is not being too kind to us this year and the forecast for the weekend is mixed although Sunday is looking good.
This week we have added a range of Swarovski Crystal earrings to our Ebay Shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/G-J-Stained-Glass. If you like the picture then why not click on the link and take a look at the other colours available.

Our Etsy Store
We now have an Etsy Store, here is a link http://www.gjdichroicglass.etsy.com/ . Etsy is an online store for genuine hand crafted items. We have not had chance to list much on there yet as we have been away on holiday but hopefully we should get some more things listed when we get back in to the swing of things.
This weekend 20th, 21st and 22nd June we will be at a Craft and Gift fair at Bridgemere Garden Centre near Nantwich http://www.bridgemere.co.uk/. This is a new venue for us so hopefully we will have a good weekend.
When we were at Gawsworth we met one of our Ebay customers who came to say hello. It is always nice to meet our internet customers so if you happen to visit Bridgemere this weekend come and say Hi !

"SPRING BANK HOLIDAY - GAWSWORTH HALL"
This blog is to let anyone who is interested know that we will be at Gawsworth Hall in Cheshire on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (24th to 26th May). Gawsworth Hall is a beautiful setting for a show and as well as the crafts and gifts on sale in the marquees there is also entertainment for the family.
These photos are just a couple of the glass items we will be selling along with our Dichroic glass jewellery http://www.gjstainedglass.co.uk/. We will also have over 250 items for sale in our ebay shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/G-J-Stained-Glass during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Here's hoping the weather will be kind to us and bring in the crowds!

Easter Fair
With it being the Easter holiday this weekend we are off to a Craft and Gift Fair at the Reebok Stadium (home of Bolton Wanderers FC). We will be there on Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th March.
With thoughts of Spring in mind this pendant was created using a beautiful flower pattern dichroic glass. The cufflinks in the photo are from our new range of gold and silver plated cufflinks. More of these can be seen in our You Tube Slideshows and at our website. Check out the links.

*Off to a good start..............*
Our first Craft and Gift Fair of the year got us off to a good start to the year, the giftware and jewellery both selling well. If you click on this link you can view some of the jewellery and giftware http://www.gjstainedglass.co.uk/. This weekend , 23rd and 24th February we are off to the Ingestre Suite, Staffordshire Showground to do a show. We have not been there before so don't know how it will go. Hopefully the Dichroic jewellery will go down well. Mother's Day is coming up so the pendants should make ideal presents. Going to the shows also gives us a chance to meet some of our ebay customers who sometimes turn up at the shows and come to say hello. It is nice to put a face to the names. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/G-J-Stained-Glass. Will let you know in the next blog how it went. :-)

*The New Season Starts Here"
How time flies. I can't believe how quick the time has passed since I started this blog. With the delivery of some new Dichroic glass we have been busy gettting stock made ready for the start of the new season, our first Craft and Gift show being Lowther Pavillion, Lytham, Lancashire on the 16th and 17th February (a small but friendly show, one of our favourites). With Valentine's Day getting ever closer and the fact it is a Leap Year, the "Love Collection" in our ebay shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/G-J-Stained-Glass is proving popular. (The pendant in the photograph is a beautiful rainbow buttlerfly glass). More to come in a futue blog!!!!!!!!!

"Starting Out"
Well, this is it we have joined the world of blogging!
As we have been selling on ebay and the Internet now for a number of years and have recently set up a Website http://gjstainedglass.co.uk/ and joined YouTube, we decided (under pressure from our eldest son, who by the way is the computer genius who has designed and constructed our website and helps me with all things technical) to start a blog.
Ged, my partner in life and now in business, started many years ago making stained glass pieces (suncatchers, etc.), hence the business name of G & J Stained Glass, the "J" being me Julie . Over the last 3 years we have been concentrating on making Dichroic Glass Jewellery which we sell on ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/G-J-Stained-Glass and our website http://www.gjstainedglass.co.uk/.
Sadly we no longer make our own stained glass, the competition from imported goods being too great, so making the Dichroic Jewellery has taken over. We now buy stained glass giftware which we sell at Craft and Gift Fairs (more on this in a future blog).
Well this is just the beginning............there's more to come!!!!!
